| Hedwig Village was incorporated in 1954. It is one of the smallest self-ruled municipalities in metropolitan Harris County. It is dedicated to single-family homes with 21,000 square feet minimum lots, with the exception of "Zone B" which is a self-contained commercial zone featuring the service of banks, grocery stores, etc. Children in Hedwig Village attend schools in Spring Branch I.S.D. as well as private schools in the area. Police services for the city of Hedwig Village are provided by the Hedwig Village Police Department located at 9000 Gaylord. The City of Hedwig Village is served by the Village Fire Department located at 901 Corbindale. The fire department also provides ambulance services.
